DIY Cast Iron Pan

DIY Cast Iron Pan

What you'll need:

Directions:

     1) Paint one side of the paper plate with a coat of black paint and let it dry. Then flip it over and paint the underside as well.

    2) Cut out a long skinny rectangle (mine ended up being 12" long and 1.75" wide) out of cardboard for the handle and round out one end. Make sure you use a sturdier cardboard for this part, as it'll have to bear the weight of the plate.

Cut out a smaller trapezoid shaped handle to go on the opposite side. Mine was about 4" long and 2.5" high.

     3.  Paint all the cardboard pieces black (both sides) and let them fully dry.

    4) Position the long handle underneath the plate until you're happy with the proportions, then generously hot glue it in place. On the directly opposite side, hot glue the smaller handle under the rim of the plate.

     5) You can now paint a layer of Mod Podge over the entire pan to seal everything and ensure that paint won't rub off on your felt foods. It will also give your pan that glossy cast iron look!

    6) Your pan has been seasoned to perfection and ready to cook!
